Volunteer Opportunities

At Petoskey Montessori Children's House and Elementary School families are asked to commit to a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer work every academic year.

Families will receive information by email when specific volunteering opportunities arise. Throughout the year, there are several opportunities for families to volunteer, such as the Spring and Fall clean-ups. There are also a number of committees where your volunteering hours will be greatly appreciated, such as the Maintenance, Social, and Fundraising Committees.

Maintenance Committee: The Maintenance Committee assists with general maintenance to the exterior and interior of the school buildings along with care of the grounds. Maintenance and repair needs may include painting, deep cleaning, gardening, landscaping, and construction. This committee also coordinates the work to be done for the Spring and Fall  Clean Up Weekends. To be part of our Maintenance Committee, please contact Amber Neils

Fundraising Committee: The Fundraising Committee plans, coordinates, and executes the major fundraisers for the school. They also coordinate on-going fundraising efforts, such as Boxtops for Education, and assist with grant writing. To be part of our Fundraising Committee, please contact Nicky Byron

Social Committee: The Social Committee helps connect our community of families and ensure everyone feels welcome at our school. They plan informal social gatherings for our families, and coordinate staff appreciation, among other activities. To be part of our Social Committee, please contact Jessi Kuhlman
